Summary Yield components and yield were studied in F1 barley hybrids produced by hand pollination or male sterility. Grain number exhibited only partial dominance but grain weight showed dominance or overdominance and contributed to the heterotic situation particularly in 2×6-row crosses. For the commercial exploitation of heterosis it is essential that hybrids should be found which show greater dominance for high grain number.  相似文献

本文通过不同肥料和密度对杂交棉主要农艺性状的影响研究,结果表明,在22500株/ha—31500株/ha的密度水平和600kg/ha---1050kg/ha的施肥(折尿素,下同)水平范围内,各处理对杂交棉的生育期影响不大;而随着密度增加,杂交棉每株果档数减少、单铃重下降、衣分降低,有效铃增加,产量总体上呈增加趋向势;随着肥料水平增加,不同密度水平的产量性状因子表现不一致,,而较低密度时,除每株果档数外其余产量性状及产量均增加,而较高密度时,各产量性状及产量则表现先增后降,但二者均在移栽地区杂交棉适宜密度范围内。综合来看,生产上应以27000株/ha密度 和900kg/施肥水平为基础上,视田间具体条件,选择适宜的肥料和移栽密度水平。  相似文献

Summary To investigate genetic regulation of blossom-end scar size in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.), a half diallel cross including 10 parents was grown under warm fall conditions in Bradenton, Florida, and cool winter conditions in Hazeva, Israel. The parents were a random sample representing all available fresh market tomato breeding lines commercially grown under subtropical field conditions. A randomized, complete block design with three replications was used and the blossom-end scar index (BSI), a measure for scar size relative to truit size, was measured on 40 and 25 fruits per plot in Bradenton and Hazeva, respectively. Analysis of variance for BSI indicated highly significant (P=0.001) variation among parents and among F1's in both environments. In Bradenton and Hazeva both, the difference in average BSI between parents and F1's was not significant suggesting insignificant overall dominance effects. Further partitioning of variation within F1's indicated that general combining ability (GCA) effects were highly significant in both environments, whereas specific combining ability (SCA) effects were significant at P=0.001 in Bradenton, but only at P=0.05 in Hazeva. Estimated variance components for GCA and SCA effects indicated that BSI inherited mainly additively in both environments. Analysis combined over environments indicated that variation in sensitivity to environments was 5-fold higher among parents than among F1's. The genotype x environment variance component was not large enough to justify testing over more than one environment for population improvement purposes and early testing of hybrids. Evaluation of inbred lines, however, may have to be done in more than one environment, especially for Suncoast-derived material. Under temperatures in Hazeva, genotype differences were more pronounced and heritabilities higher than under high temperatures in Bradenton. The estimated overall single plot heritability was 0.63. Breeding lines with a pointed blossom-end morphology (e.g. NC 8276 and NC 140 in this study) generally had small blossom-end scars, and intercrossing of these lines or crossing with non-pointed, moderately smooth breeding lines generally resulted in smooth hybrids.  相似文献

Summary Stability in yield components was estimated in several species of Triticum grown across a range of soil moisture. The aim was to assess the effect of varying soil moisture on mechanisms leading to grain yield stability, particularly in the accessions identified as having stable yields and drought resistance viz., T. sphaerococcum, T. vavilovii and T. aestivum cv. C 306 (Paper I of this series). The study indicated that number of grains per spike provided stability to the accessions of T. sphaerococcum and T. vavilovii whereas number of spikes per unit area contributed towards the stability of T. aestivum cv. C 306. It is suggested that these accessions could be utilized as the genetic sources for improving specific yield components with regard to grain yield stability under droughted conditions.  相似文献

Major sugar and carboxylic acid components in apricot flesh fruits were detected and quantified. Fifty-one genotypes including clones growing in France, Spain, Italy, Greece and USA, belonging to the INRA germ plasm collection has been evaluated. Principal component analysis (PCA) has been performed to study correlation among fruit quality measurements and to interpret relationships between genotypes as a tool for germ plasm characterization. A marked variation in malic and citric acid content has been observed and PCA revealed clusters of apricot genotypes for the malic/citric ratio content. A good correlation between sugar component and refractometer index (r = 0.83) has been detected. The wide range of diversity in malic and citric acid content in apricot germ plasm makes it possible to breed and select genotypes with improved flavour on the basis of superior phenotypes. Anther culture response with 17 widely-grown varieties and one model variety of barley was studied with one replication from field-grown donor plants and one replication from a growth-chamber. Plants were regenerated from all 18 varieties and green plants were obtained from 16 of them. On average, 1.6 green plants were obtained per 100 cultured anthers from all the material. Estimated variance components for the formation of embryos/callus from the anthers were dominated by the effects of the genotypes and interactions between plant material and environments which together accounted for 60.1 and 17.0 % of the total variation respectively, while environments were nonsignificant for this character. Plant regeneration from embryos/callus were not significantly influenced by either genotype or environments. Components of variance for green plant formation were dominated by the effects of the genotypes, accounting for 73.2 % of the total variation, and a smaller effect from environments accounting for 11.2% of the total variation. Main effects from genotypes on the percentage of green regenerants divided 7 varieties into two distinct groups, indicating that major genetic factors were involved. The genetic basis for green plant regeneration seems different from that governing embryo formation. The results are discussed with respect to the possible prediction of anther culture response for new barley hybrids, as a means for directing the use of barley anther culture towards material that responds well.  相似文献

以安徽省2000—2005年的中籼稻区域试验和联合鉴定试验的424个品种(组合)为材料,对产量性状作了相关分析及主成份分析。分析结果表明:产量和每穗总粒数、每穗实粒数、结实率、千粒重均呈极显著正相关,与有效穗呈显著正相关,每穗总粒数、每穗实粒数、结实率与有效穗呈极显著负相关,千粒重与有效穗呈负相关。所以在中籼品种(组合)的高产育种中,应以选每穗总粒数、每穗实粒数为主攻目标,即要选育穗大粒多型品种,不必过于追求有效穗和千粒重。穗实粒数、产量与全生育期存在一定的正相关关系,但不显著,即生育期短的品种(组合)也可以实现高产。主成份分析也表明穗实粒数、穗总粒数是高产育种主攻的关键。并在分析基础上提出了中籼稻品种(组合)高产育种策略建议,为中籼新品种(组合)的选育提供参考。  相似文献

Thinner pod walls might contribute to increased yield potential and adaptation of lupins. Fourteen autumn‐sown genotypes of Lupinus albus L. were evaluated over 2 years at four sites in southern Chile. Pod wall proportion (PWP), pod wall specific weight (WSW) and five other pod‐related characters were measured to estimate their genetic variation, heritability across years and sites, and genotypic and phenotypic correlations among the characters. Ranges for PWP and pod WSW were 22.9−43.1% and 16.4−37.4 mg/cm2, respectively. PWP in cultivated L. albus was similar to that reported in L. angustifolius; however, specific weight was substantially lower. Highly significant genotypic effects were found for both characters. Broad sense heritabilities were high for PWP (0.63) and moderate for pod WSW (0.46). These characters were significantly correlated, more so genotypically (rg = 0.67) than phenotypically (rph = 0.36). Selection for low PWP should lead to lower pod wall thickness or density, both of which contribute to pod WSW. Nevertheless, selection for pod WSW could achieve further reductions, particularly if practised among low PWP materials.  相似文献

Homozygous lines from six Syrian and two Jordanian landrace populations were tested under highly productive growing conditions in Tel Hadia (1982/83), under drought stress in Breda (1983/84), and under dryland salinity stress in Hegla (1982/83/84) in Syria. Mean grain yield levels ranged between 260 kg/ha and 4850 kg/ha. Under drought and salinity stress, the majority of the landrace lines out-yielded the best cheeks significantly. In Tel Hadia the check cultivars mostly outyielded the landrace lines, but not always significantly. In all environments the harvest index of the landrace lines was near the optimum for barley. They expressed intermediate plant height and time to flowering, high lodging susceptibility under favorable growing conditions, high protein content, and a wide range of yield component combinations. In the stress environments highly significant genetic variation among the landrace lines was found. The heritabilities for gram yield were high in these trials. The correlations between performance under stress and under favorable growing conditions were poor. Therefore, the largest gains for variety improvement for the Syrian steppe area are expected from direct selection under stress conditions. Unique responses in proline accumulation and germination patterns in saline solution indicated specific adaptation in this material. These landraces, thus, are a useful source of breeding material, which also widens the genetic base of the present breeding program.  相似文献
